Borgo Del Mandorlo Primitivo Di Manduria DOC Riserva

TASTING NOTE

Intense purple colour, tending towards amber with ageing. The nose gives aromas of red and black fruits. Notes of raspberry, blackberry, cherry and plum, along with spicy pepper notes. Subtle notes of oak, liquorice and fig. This wine has a very solid structure due to the elevated alcohol and the balance between the soft tannins and acidity.

Decanting: Recommended for at least 30 minutes.

Service temperature: 18 – 20 ºC

Food Pairing:
Great wine for roasted and grilled meats. Ideal with game dishes. Excellent with mature hard cheeses.

BORGO DEL MANDORLO is a tribute to Apulia, to its history. In Roman times, Pliny the Old owned the wonderful and special marvels of the lands now in the provinces of Taranto and Lecce; one of these places can be visited and has his name: the Plinian source. It’s a large natural cave where light enters through a small space. The entrance has a circular wall of sandstone. The really marvelous thing is that an almond tree has grown there. It is a tree loved by the Apulian inhabitants and we have drawn our inspiration for the name of our Apulian wines. Enchanting wines, full-bodied and intense will delight you sip after sip.
