Montes Purple Angel

TASTING NOTE
With intense and deep carmine-red color, the wine delivers a pool of fresh fruit aromas, such as blackberry, blueberry, red plum, and ripe cherry. There are also a bakery, candied, and subtle spice notes that mix well with the aromas from the French oak, including balanced toast, vanilla, and mocha. The palate is balanced and vibrant, with a complex body and extremely smooth tannins.

Service temperature: 17-19ºC

Food Pairing:
Highly recommended with red meat, rosemary lamb chops, pork ribs, and cannelloni.

RED WINE

ABV: 14.5% VOL.
Grape: Carmenère 92% and Petit Verdot 8%.
Country: Chile
Aging: 80% of this wine was aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, and 20% was aged in second-use French oak barrels.

This superb wine represents a whole new dimension for Carmenère, the long-lost grape variety that recently resurfaced in Chile after being presumed extinct in Bordeaux, it’s original home. Purple Angel, has been recognized as Chile’s best Carmenère. Critics all over the world have named this wine a “wine from another planet”.
