Waraku Otokoyama 和乐男山1800ML

Originated in the Kanbun era in the middle of the 17th century, brewing began in Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture and soon became a famous local sake. After the 20th century, Nanshan has won gold medals in wine competitions around the world for more than 30 consecutive years, and enjoys a high reputation overseas. The water used for brewing sake in Nanshan comes from the spring water of Snow Mountain, which is known as “the water that prolongs life”. It selects the best sake rice from all over Japan, and the average rice polishing rate reaches 58%, so the wines of each series are very delicious. Especially the top-grade “Junmai Daiginjo”, which has a delicate fragrance and endless aftertaste, has been praised as “the best rice wine” by overseas Japanese sake lovers.

Tasting Notes

Otokoyama has a moderate aromatic intensity. The profile is a good combo of grains, citrus, and apples. This Tokubetsu Junmai has a soft and compact nature with an underlying minerality. Man’s Mountain is an o-Karakuchi sake– which means it’s very dry.
